Terry Tay is a former Singapore national gymnast and the founder of Kineote. Through speaking, consultations and personal training in Singapore, he brings a perspective shaped by gymnastics to the way people approach movement, practice and progress.
His approach starts with understanding the person in front of him: what they want to achieve, what is getting in the way, and what a useful next step looks like.
The experience behind the approach
Gymnastics demands preparation, precision and the willingness to repeat the fundamentals. Progress happens through practice, feedback and adjustment, often long before it becomes visible in competition.
That sporting background informs Terry’s approach at Kineote: clear explanations, purposeful practice and attention to each person’s starting point.
Whether the setting is a talk, a consultation or a training session, the aim is to make ideas practical enough to use beyond the session itself.
Why Kineote exists
Kineote brings together movement and meaning. Its name reflects the connection between movement and a keynote: a central idea that gives direction.
An idea becomes useful when someone can act on it. A goal becomes clearer when there is a practical way to work towards it.
Kineote is where Terry brings his sporting experience into that process, helping people connect what they want to achieve with how they practise.
